Temporary Access Policy
How temporary access to your hosting or accounts is handled when you ask for help.
Temporary Access Policy
In some cases, you may request help with connecting your domain, adjusting hosting settings, or making small changes directly on your website or account. This Temporary Access Policy explains how that access is handled.
Temporary access is only requested when it is necessary, and never without your explicit permission.
1. Purpose of Temporary Access
Temporary access is only requested when it is needed to:
- Upload or update website files
- Connect a domain name to a site
- Adjust basic settings related to your website's launch
- Fix a specific issue you have asked for help with
2. How Access Details Are Handled
If you choose to share login details (for example, hosting, domain, or admin panel access), they are used only for the agreed purpose.
You are encouraged to:
- Create a temporary user login instead of sharing your main account password where possible
- Use temporary passwords where a separate user login is not available
- Do not send passwords through insecure public channels
- Change your password once the work is complete
3. Scope of Actions
When temporary access is granted, actions are limited to what is necessary for:
- Uploading or adjusting website files
- Configuring basic technical settings required for your site to function
- Implementing specific changes you have requested
No unrelated changes are made to your accounts, services, or settings.
4. Your Responsibility and Control
You are always in control of your accounts. You can:
- Choose whether or not to share access
- Limit the type of access (for example, using a separate user login when possible)
- Remove access or change passwords at any time
If temporary access is needed, EchoWebVision and the client will agree on the safest practical method before access is shared.
Access should be removed, revoked, or password details changed once the required work is complete.
5. Security and Third Parties
While reasonable care is taken when working with your accounts, no system is perfectly secure. EchoWebVision is not responsible for security issues, downtime, or breaches caused by:
- Hosting providers
- Domain registrars
- Third-party services
- Other factors outside of direct control
6. Duration of Access
Temporary access is intended to be short-term and limited to specific tasks. Once those tasks are complete, you may remove access or change passwords.
Ongoing maintenance or long-term access, if needed, will be discussed and agreed on separately.
7. Questions
If you have any questions about temporary access, or want to agree on a specific way to handle it for your project, you can reach out through the contact form before sharing any access details.
